David Wheeldon, a 41-year-old man from Cincinnati, OH, was fatally shot on June 9, 2014, in the Northside neighborhood. The incident occurred around 6:22 p.m. at the intersection of Chase Avenue and Cherry Street. Sgt. George Pille, a veteran officer, was responding to a report of an attempted breaking and entering when he heard gunshots. Upon arriving at the scene, he found Wheeldon dead on the sidewalk with another man standing over him holding a gun.
