Christopher M. Potter, a 41-year-old man from Cincinnati, Ohio, tragically lost his life on August 22, 2024, in a shooting incident at a bar called The Office on Springdale Road in Colerain Township. The incident occurred just after midnight, resulting in a triple shooting where Potter was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals, a man and a woman, were also shot and sustained serious injuries, requiring treatment at UC Medical Center.
Following the shooting, Colerain Township detectives issued warrants for Samuel M. Jordan III, who was wanted for the murder of Christopher Potter. Jordan, 42, was described as 5-foot-9 and 236 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. Initially, authorities considered him armed and dangerous and sought public assistance in locating him.
On September 27, 2024, approximately a month after the incident, Samuel M. Jordan III was apprehended in Florida. At the time of his arrest, Jordan was awaiting extradition back to Hamilton County to face charges related to the shooting. The arrest marked a significant development in the case, bringing hope for justice for Christopher Potter and the other victims of the tragic event.
