On October 9, 2024, at approximately 1:57 a.m., the Bay Village Police Department received a 911 call from Erica Wandzel, who reported that she had shot her roommate, 40-year-old Anthony James Hein. Emergency responders arrived at the residence on Bassett Road, where Hein was pronounced dead at 2:07 a.m.

In the 911 call, Wandzel stated that Hein had been attacking her throughout the night, prompting her to shoot him in self-defense. She expressed fear that Hein might attempt to seize t ...
