On November 3, 2024, at approximately 5:50 a.m., Columbus police responded to a reported shooting in the 3300 block of East 5th Avenue, near John Glenn Columbus International Airport. Upon arrival, officers found 29-year-old Treh D. East with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:21 a.m.

Investigations revealed that East had been involved in a physical altercation with 30-year-old Awil Salah Mohamed prior to the shoot ...
