On November 3, 2024, 37-year-old Chezarae Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio, was fatally shot. He was the father of Lotus Legaci Love Jones, a young girl who sustained critical injuries in February 2023 when a drunk driver, fleeing from East Cleveland police, collided with the vehicle she was in.
In connection with Chezarae Jackson's death, 35-year-old Ralph Jackson was arrested and charged with murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and having weapons under disability.
He was arraigned in Cleveland Municipal Court, where his bail was set at $1 million. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for November 13, 2024.
Subsequently, a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury indicted Ralph Jackson on the aforementioned charges. He remains in custody on the $1 million bond and was slated to return to court on November 20, 2024, for a pre-trial hearing.
