In the early hours of August 1, 2023, the life of 19-year-old Talia Rayn Wills was tragically cut short in her North Valley apartment in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A female of Hispanic ethnicity, Talia was a young mother with a promising future ahead of her. The night before her death, she had been at a family gathering at the apartment she shared with her boyfriend.

Following the gathering, a verbal argument erupted between Talia and her 22-year-old boyfriend, Mykyle Lewis-Robinson. The disagreement escalated, leading Lewis-Robinson to retrieve a handgun. He later told detectives that his intention was to frighten Talia. However, he fired the weapon, fatally wounding her. After the shooting, he reportedly ran to a neighbor's apartment for help.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found Talia with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries. Inside the apartment, authorities also found the couple's infant child, who was physically unharmed.

The Albuquerque Police Department quickly identified Mykyle Lewis-Robinson as the primary suspect in the shooting. He was taken into custody and subsequently arrested. Lewis-Robinson has been charged with an open count of murder in connection with the death of Talia Rayn Wills.
