On a tragic Wednesday morning, January 4, 2023, the life of a 25-year-old Latina woman, Rachel Ruiz-Izquierdo, came to a violent end in Las Vegas. Just before 8 a.m., as she was arriving for her job in the 500 block of Pamalyn Avenue, she was confronted by her ex-boyfriend. The man, identified as 43-year-old Ubelquier Capote-Dominguez, had been waiting for her. He then shot Ruiz-Izquierdo in the head before taking his own life.
