In the early morning hours of May 1, 1997, the body of 62-year-old Caucasian female Cristina Gonzalez-Rubin was discovered lying on the ground in the parking lot of the Sierra Park Apartments in southern Las Vegas. A visitor to the city from Florida, her identity was initially unknown to the authorities. It was only after she failed to return home that her family's inquiries with the Clark County Coroner's Office would lead to her identification.
