On June 9, 2024, 19-year-old Jay'lan Crews of Henderson, Nevada, was fatally shot during a house party in west Las Vegas. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Plantea Court, near West Oakey Boulevard and South Buffalo Drive. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire and found Crews outside the residence with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
