On the evening of August 13, 2023, a shooting occurred at an apartment complex in Minneapolis' Loring Park neighborhood, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Shavadis Deonte Givens. At approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire at 1500 Nicollet Avenue South, where they discovered Givens and two other individuals—a man in his twenties and an 18-year-old woman—suffering from gunshot wounds.
