Murdered

On August 25, 2024, 27-year-old Payao Vang was found deceased alongside her husband, 65-year-old Smith Coop Brown, in a farm field near 210th Street East and Clayton Avenue in Empire, Minnesota. The couple, residents of Oakdale, had gone to their leased farm plot earlier that day but failed to return home, prompting Brown's son and another family member to search for them.
