In the early hours of a Monday morning, on May 6, 2024, the life of 35-year-old Isaiah Gails, a Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in a burst of violence in Wichita, Kansas. Gails was at a Kwik Shop on East Douglas, engaged in the mundane task of fueling his vehicle, when the night was shattered by the sound of gunfire around 2 a.m. He was fatally shot while sitting in his car in the convenience store's parking lot.
