In a tragic series of events that unfolded on November 10, 2024, Donald Dodge, a 66-year-old male, was found deceased in Wichita, Kansas. His death was part of a horrifying quadruple murder and suicide that left a neighborhood in shock and mourning. The incident spanned across two different locations within the city, beginning when police were called to a residence on South Santa Fe.
There, they discovered the first victim, 67-year-old Anthony Stickney, who had been fatally shot.
Information gathered at the first scene led investigators to a second home on South Laura, less than a mile away. It was at this residence that the full scope of the tragedy became apparent. Inside, officers found the bodies of three more individuals, including Donald Dodge. He was discovered alongside 55-year-old Terry Wayne Meyer, the stepfather of the suspected shooter, and the suspect himself, 42-year-old Joshua Stickney. Dodge was a friend and neighbor of Joshua Stickney. All three men had succumbed to gunshot wounds.
The investigation continued to a neighboring home on South Laura, where police were attempting to find someone to care for Joshua Stickney's pet. Inside this residence, they found the fifth victim, 39-year-old Alan Young, another neighbor, who had also been shot to death. Evidence at the scene on South Laura suggested a murder-suicide.
Authorities have determined that Joshua Stickney was the perpetrator in the deaths of his father, Anthony Stickney, his stepfather, Terry Wayne Meyer, and his neighbors, Donald Dodge and Alan Young. A firearm located near Joshua Stickney's body is believed to have been the weapon used in all the shootings. His own death was the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Law enforcement officials have stated that they are not seeking any other suspects in connection with this case and that there is no ongoing danger to the public. The motive for the killings is still under investigation.
