On February 22, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Raceland, Louisiana, resulting in the death of six-year-old Davonta "D.J." Michel Jr. At approximately 7:45 p.m., a 911 call was made from a residence on the 2000 block of Louisiana Highway 182, reporting that a small child had been shot and was unresponsive.
