In the late summer of 2018 in Raceland, Louisiana, a series of violent events culminated in the death of 38-year-old Timon Nash, a Black/African American man. The initial incident unfolded shortly after midnight on August 24th, when Nash was involved in an altercation that resulted in him being shot in the forearm. While this initial shooting was not fatal, it set a grim precedent for what was to come.
