In the early evening hours of a Tuesday in Alexandria, Louisiana, the life of Dietrich Deshawn Gaines, a 20-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On March 7, 2023, at approximately 6:37 PM, officers from the Alexandria Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of Ashley Avenue following a report of a shooting.
