On April 8, 2023, 20-year-old Devyn Keon Thomas was found unresponsive in a white Honda Accord in the 4200 block of 5th Avenue in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Upon arrival, Acadian Ambulance personnel pronounced him deceased. The Lake Charles Police Department initiated a homicide investigation after discovering that Thomas had suffered a gunshot wound.
