In the early hours of May 1, 2023, the quiet of a Pineville, Louisiana neighborhood was broken by the sound of gunfire. When police arrived at the intersection of Holloway and Prairie Streets, they discovered the body of 26-year-old Tucker Gibson. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Bureau worked swiftly, and their investigation led them to a suspect within a day. Eighteen-year-old Rayford Brice III, also from Pineville, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. He was subsequently charged with second-degree murder and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. A judge set his bond at a formidable one million dollars.
While incarcerated and awaiting trial for the murder of Tucker Gibson, Rayford Brice III faced additional legal troubles. In July 2023, he was arrested on a series of unrelated charges, including simple burglary, theft, and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. These new allegations added to the severity of his legal situation. According to court records, a jury trial for the second-degree murder charge against Brice is scheduled to take place. He remains in custody as he awaits his day in court.
