On June 10, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on Sagewood Drive in Thibodaux, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Carl Poindexter Jr. from Houma, Louisiana. The incident happened just before 7:30 pm, and upon arrival, patrol deputies and detectives from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office found at least one person who had been shot. Carl Poindexter Jr. was rushed to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
