On a summer evening in Thibodaux, Louisiana, the life of 19-year-old Carl Poindexter Jr. was cut short by gunfire. The fatal shooting occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on June 10, 2023, on Sagewood Drive. When deputies from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene, they discovered that at least one person had been shot. Poindexter, a resident of nearby Houma, was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
