A night of celebration at a private party in Thibodaux, Louisiana, turned into a scene of tragedy, leaving two people dead, including 47-year-old Alvin Turner. The gathering, held at a business on St. Charles Street, was shattered by gunfire on a Friday evening, cutting short the lives of Turner and 70-year-old Linda Johnson. The violence reportedly stemmed from a verbal altercation between Turner and another man at the event.
Following the dispute, the man, later identified as Terrione
Thomas, is said to have departed from the party. He allegedly returned a short time later, but this time he was armed with a gun. Thomas is accused of opening fire, fatally wounding Turner. In the midst of the chaos, Johnson was also struck by the gunfire. It is believed that she may have been an unintended victim caught in the crossfire.
In the aftermath of the deadly shooting, law enforcement quickly launched an investigation that led them to identify Terrione Thomas as the primary suspect. He was subsequently arrested and faced two counts of second-degree murder for the deaths of Alvin Turner and Linda Johnson. His brother, Timothy Thomas, was also taken into custody and charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder, accused of aiding his brother after the incident.
