Keith Paul Chiasson, a 51-year-old male officer with the Thibodaux Police Department, tragically died on February 19, 1980, from gunshot wounds sustained during a police call. Chiasson responded to a complaint at a local nightclub, where he was shot multiple times. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Mardi Gras night, when Chiasson and other officers were called to the scene for a domestic abuse complaint.
