In the quiet afternoon of Friday, June 16, 2023, the life of 28-year-old Melvin “Melo” Julius Cullins was tragically cut short by gun violence in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. A native and resident of the city, Cullins was a father to a son, Melo, and a daughter, Meloni. He had attended Orleans Parish Public Schools and A.C. Reynolds High School in North Carolina.
