In the early morning hours of a Tuesday in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the life of Michael DeShon Porter, a 35-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On July 11, 2023, at approximately 2:19 a.m., police officers were called to a Motel 6 located on Highway 1 By-Pass. Upon their arrival, they discovered Porter suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite any efforts to save him, he was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner's Office.
