In the late summer of 2023, the life of 34-year-old Troymicheal Johnlouis, a male resident of Thibodaux in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, came to a tragic and violent end. The series of events leading to his death began on the evening of September 16, 2023, when he was last seen getting into a car with a woman. This last sighting would be the beginning of a mystery that would soon unravel into a multi-parish homicide investigation.
The following day, September 17, Johnlouis was officially
reported as a missing person. Concern for his welfare grew, and detectives began to suspect that foul play was involved in his disappearance. The search for Johnlouis concluded in a heartbreaking discovery on September 18 in the neighboring Assumption Parish. His body was recovered from Bayou Lafourche in the Supreme area, bearing the unmistakable signs of a violent struggle, including several wounds and gunshots. An autopsy would later confirm that his death was a homicide.
The investigation into the death of Troymicheal Johnlouis was a collaborative effort involving sheriff's offices from Lafourche, Assumption, Terrebonne, Jefferson, and East Baton Rouge parishes. Through their combined efforts, investigators were able to identify two suspects in the case: 25-year-old Tierra Pendleton of Thibodaux and 26-year-old Eddie Clark III of Baton Rouge. Detectives determined that Pendleton was the woman with whom Johnlouis was last seen. The investigation revealed that after Johnlouis entered the vehicle, Clark, who was already inside and armed with a knife and a gun, allegedly attacked him. Pendleton is said to have sped away as the assault took place. Johnlouis's body was later transported to Assumption Parish and disposed of in Bayou Lafourche.
The multi-parish investigation led to the discovery of vehicles believed to have been used in the commission of the crime in East Baton Rouge and Jefferson Parishes, where evidence connected to the case was found. On September 21, 2023, investigators executed a search warrant at Pendleton's residence in Terrebonne Parish. Eddie Clark III was present at the time and was arrested. Both Clark and Pendleton were subsequently charged with second-degree murder in the death of Troymicheal Johnlouis.
