In the late hours of a Saturday night in Lafayette, Louisiana, a devastating act of violence cut short the life of 37-year-old Michelle Touchet. On December 9, 2023, while walking home from a neighbor's house in the 300 block of Sampson Avenue, Touchet was gunned down, suffering multiple gunshot wounds. She tragically died at the scene, her sudden death marking the 26th homicide in Lafayette for the year. The incident left the community in shock and searching for answers.
