On December 24, 2023, 33-year-old Myeisha Teneasha "Mylo" Marshall was fatally shot near downtown New Orleans. The incident occurred around 3:26 p.m. at the intersection of Canal Street and Exchange Place. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found Marshall lying in the street; she was transported to a hospital, where she later died.
