In the spring of 2023, the city of New Orleans was shaken by the brazen killing of 33-year-old Sully Rosanne Simmons. On the afternoon of April 25th, Simmons was fatally shot while sitting in her parked car near her home. The shocking violence of the act was compounded by the presence of her two-year-old son, who was secured in the backseat of the vehicle and miraculously unharmed.
