In the late hours of an October night in New Orleans, the life of 17-year-old Tynarvia Rogers was tragically cut short. On October 30, 2024, the female teenager, who was a student at Walter L. Cohen High School, was fatally shot in a double homicide in the Plum Orchard neighborhood. The incident, which also claimed the life of 20-year-old Jordan Chavez, unfolded inside a residence on Laine Avenue. Both Rogers and Chavez were discovered with gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
