On a Christmas night that should have been filled with festive cheer, a family was torn apart by violence in a Harvey, Louisiana apartment complex. Taj Laurent Sr., a 51-year-old man, was fatally shot while attempting to de-escalate a volatile domestic dispute. The loving husband and grandfather of six had gone to the apartment to aid his daughter, who was involved in an altercation with her boyfriend, Talvis Keller.
