On December 25, 2023, 51-year-old Taj Jerome "Catlag" Laurent Sr. of Harvey, Louisiana, was fatally shot while attempting to defuse a domestic dispute involving his daughter and her boyfriend, 23-year-old Talvis Keller. The incident occurred at the Westchase Apartments in Harvey, where Laurent's daughter had discovered Keller with another woman. When she asked him to leave and he refused, an argument ensued.
