On January 2, 2024, Cynthia Lamb, a 37-year-old African American woman and mother of six, was fatally shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. in the 2700 block of Main Street while she was walking home with a male friend. Her ex-boyfriend, 23-year-old Darren Knox, approached them in a vehicle, confronted Lamb, struck her in the face, and then shot her multiple times. She died in the front yard of a house just a few blocks from her own home.
