In the evening hours of Thursday, January 11, 2024, a shooting incident in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans claimed the life of 20-year-old Deontae Dquan Bessie. A native of Gretna, Louisiana, and a resident of New Orleans, Bessie was a young father and a former employee of Amazon.
