In a tragic turn of events on a Thursday evening in January 2024, Vaughn Wilson, a 60-year-old male, lost his life in what authorities have described as a fatal shooting. The incident unfolded at a residence on Denham Road in East Baton Rouge Parish, where detectives were called to the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered Wilson deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to witnesses at the property, Wilson was last seen walking toward the back of the residence accompanied by
his 37-year-old nephew, Jordy Wilson. This detail quickly made Jordy a person of interest in the investigation. The search for the younger Wilson did not last long, as he was located and apprehended by deputies from the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office at a business on Range Road in Denham Springs.
Following his arrest, Jordy Wilson was taken into custody. A subsequent search of his vehicle by law enforcement officers reportedly uncovered a firearm, as well as quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine. He was later booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail. The charges brought against him include second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Reports indicate that upon his arrest, Jordy Wilson declined to provide a statement to the authorities regarding the events that led to his uncle's death.
