In the early hours of February 15, 2024, a tragic event unfolded in Shreveport, Louisiana, that cut short the life of 20-year-old Jtorryon Karl Williams. Mr. Williams, a male, was at his apartment on South Lakeshore Drive when his life was violently taken from him. The day of his death was also his twentieth birthday.
Reports from authorities indicate that Mr. Williams was asleep inside his residence when a loud banging at his door roused him.
When he went to investigate the disturbance, he was met with a hail of bullets. The multiple gunshot wounds he sustained proved to be fatal, and he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
In the wake of the shooting, the Shreveport Police Department launched an investigation that quickly led to the identification of suspects. Within a month of the incident, two individuals were taken into custody in connection with the murder of Jtorryon Williams. The first to be arrested was 21-year-old Jadavion Cooper, who was apprehended and charged with second-degree murder.
Shortly after Cooper's arrest, a second suspect, 19-year-old Dequavion Pouncy, was also located and taken into custody by law enforcement. Pouncy faced the same charge of second-degree murder for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting. Both men were booked into the local detention center as the legal process against them commenced.
