In the early evening of February 27, 2024, the Alexandria Police Department responded to a call about a shooting at an apartment complex on Enterprise Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Anthony Bell, a male resident of Alexandria, who had succumbed to a gunshot wound. The area was secured by law enforcement, and an investigation into the apparent homicide was immediately launched.
This particular apartment complex had been the scene of previous violent crimes, including a fatal shooting in 2021.
The day after the discovery of Bell's body, on February 28, 2024, the Alexandria Police Department made an arrest in connection with the killing. At approximately 3:00 PM, Stanley Goldsby Jr., a 36-year-old man from Shreveport, was taken into custody. Goldsby was subsequently charged with one count of second-degree murder. Law enforcement officials have indicated that the investigation is ongoing.
