Death by Force

On April 7, 2024, 53-year-old Darriel D. King was fatally shot while working as a security guard at Wit's Inn, a bar located in New Orleans' Mid-City neighborhood. The incident occurred around 11:11 p.m. when King denied entry to a man who did not meet the bar's age requirement. An altercation ensued, during which the individual drew a firearm and shot King in the chest. Emergency medical services transported King to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
