In the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans, a verbal dispute escalated into a tragic outbreak of violence that claimed the life of 25-year-old Ryan Massey. The incident unfolded on a Wednesday evening, just before 7:00 p.m., at the Garden Oaks apartment complex. What began as an argument quickly turned physical, resulting in a quadruple shooting that left Massey fatally wounded.
Massey was struck multiple times in the body and arms during the altercation.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Three other individuals were also caught in the gunfire, including another man who was shot in the head, a woman who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her body, and a one-year-old boy who was shot in the foot.
Known to his loved ones as 'K-Ron,' Ryan Massey was remembered as a dedicated father to his young son. His family and friends were left to mourn the sudden and violent loss of a man they described as a sweet and caring individual. His death on April 4, 2018, sent ripples of grief through his community. An obituary published in The Times-Picayune announced his funeral services to be held at the Fischer Community Church.
