Michael Ennis, a 19-year-old male, was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on New Year's Day in Avondale, New Orleans. The incident took place just after midnight on Senate Drive, where Joseph Washington, a 32-year-old male, was talking to a friend outside her car when two men, including Ennis, approached and shot him multiple times. Washington's friend was not injured in the shooting. This tragic event marked the first homicide of 2016 in Jefferson Parish.
