Mel Green, a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on May 15, 2022, in New Orleans, LA. The incident occurred in the 5700 block of Crowder Boulevard at approximately 8:17 p.m. when officers from the New Orleans Police Department Seventh District responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting. Upon arrival, they found Mel Green with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
