In the Broadmoor neighborhood of New Orleans, a tragic story unfolded on May 31, 2016, ending the life of 24-year-old Charles Bannister. He, along with another man, fell victim to gun violence in what was reported as a double homicide.
That evening, the New Orleans Police Department was called to the intersection of Washington Avenue and South Dorgenois Street. Upon arrival, they discovered two men inside a vehicle, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The other victim was identified as Jaleel Gibson. Both Bannister and Gibson were pronounced dead at the scene.
