In the spring of 2023, the life of 24-year-old Wendale Harvey was cut short in a burst of gunfire in New Orleans East. On the evening of May 24th, officers from the New Orleans Police Department's Seventh District were called to the 7000 block of Martin Drive, where they found Harvey suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
