In the early hours of a Monday morning in New Orleans, tragedy struck, leaving a family and community mourning the loss of a young life. On November 11, 2024, shortly before 8:25 a.m., officers from the New Orleans Police Department's Seventh District were dispatched to the 8200 block of the South I-10 Service Road following a report of a person down. Upon their arrival, they discovered an unresponsive male victim who had sustained at least one gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but sadly, they could only confirm that the victim was deceased.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office later identified the victim as 17-year-old Tyrone Nash Jr. An autopsy determined that the preliminary cause of his death was from gunshot-related injuries.
