Korey Dennis 'Coco' Reed, a 23-year-old male, tragically lost his life on May 26, 2014, in New Orleans. His death was the result of a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Charbonnet Street. An investigation into the homicide was conducted jointly by the New Orleans Police Department and the FBI New Orleans Violent Crime Task Force.
The investigation led to the identification of two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting.
The first suspect, Christopher Michael Dixon, born December 12, 1985, was apprehended on July 17, 2014. His arrest took place in the 1500 block of Flood Street in New Orleans. Following his arrest, Dixon was booked into Orleans Parish Prison on a charge of second-degree murder.
The second suspect was identified as Jeremiah Washington, born January 20, 1986. After being sought by law enforcement, Washington turned himself in to the FBI New Orleans Violent Crime Task Force on the morning of July 22, 2014. He was subsequently booked into Orleans Parish Prison. Both men were wanted for the murder of Korey Reed.
