On the morning of April 28, 2024, the life of 34-year-old Black male Tedrick Davis was tragically cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Police were called to the 1600 block of Florida Street around 7:22 a.m., where they discovered Davis deceased from a gunshot wound. In the immediate aftermath, the circumstances surrounding the shooting were unclear, with investigators working to identify a motive and any potential suspects.
The investigation into Davis's death progressed, and just over a
month later, an arrest was made. On May 30, 2024, Baton Rouge Police Homicide Detectives took 17-year-old Micah Bell into custody for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting. The arrest brought a significant development to a case that initially had few public leads.
Following his arrest, Micah Bell was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He is facing charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. The motive for the shooting has not been publicly released by authorities. The case against Bell will now proceed through the criminal justice system.
