On May 12, 2024, Daiquan Branch, a 21-year-old resident of New Iberia, Louisiana, tragically lost his life to gun violence during a birthday party. The shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Jordan Street around 5:30 p.m. Witnesses reported that children were playing nearby when the celebration turned chaotic after shots were fired.
