Darel Roy III, an 18-year-old African American male from New Iberia, Louisiana, tragically lost his life on June 7, 2017. The incident occurred near the intersection of Julia and Washington Streets in New Iberia. According to reports, Darel was shot multiple times and was found lying in the 300 block of Julia Street. He was treated at the scene and subsequently transported to Iberia Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
