On June 7, 2024, 43-year-old Bazile Mitchell Jr. was fatally shot in a residence on North Nadler Street in Plaquemine, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 8 a.m., and Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the shooting, authorities arrested 19-year-old Deandre Devon Dorsey on charges of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. His mother, 50-year-old Sammie Dorsey, was also arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and failure to report certain felonies.
