Javezz Javon Dunn, a 25-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 10:28 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Harco Drive. Officers who responded to the scene discovered Dunn's body behind a building complex, where he had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation into the shooting led Baton Rouge Police Detectives to identify 18-year-old Christen Baker as a suspect.
According to authorities, the shooting transpired after a verbal altercation between Baker and Dunn. On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Baker was taken into custody in connection with Dunn's death.
Following his arrest, Christen Baker was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He is facing charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. The investigation by homicide detectives is ongoing as they continue to follow up on leads in the case.
