On July 29, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in New Orleans, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 15-year-old Tyvien Jirouard. The shooting took place in the 2100 block of Sonia Street while the Sophie B. Wright football team was practicing on the field near Evans Playground.
