In the late evening of September 15, 2024, Teressa Calligan, a 41-year-old mother of two, was driving home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She had just left a campaign event for her cousin-in-law, a candidate for a local judgeship. As she drove along Airline Highway, a vehicle pulled up alongside her SUV, and someone inside opened fire, striking her multiple times.
