On Friday, October 4, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in LaPlace, Louisiana, resulting in the deaths of 11-year-old Sa'Miya McClain and her uncle, 50-year-old Ron Tate. The shooting took place at Tate’s home, located near Sugar Ridge Road and Cinclair Loop, while the family was preparing for a 3-year-old’s birthday party.
